A Cardio system is composed of the following elements:

Touch pannel

Flush mounted in a wall. It is connected to the central controller with a 2-wire bus.
Écran tactile

Central controller

Generally located near the electrical panel of the home, this is the “heart” of the system. All security sensors and detectors are wired to this unit as with any security system. So are lights and outlets modules and heating/cooling systems. It needs a dual electrical outlet for its own power and for the X10 TW523 module. It is necessary to install a digital communicator modular jack (RJ45) for telephone control.

A digital key reader and two digital keys

Acting as a secondary security keypad, a digital key reader, in conjunction with a digital key, uses touch memory technology (digital signals) to activate and deactivate the security . Therefore, no more stress of entering access codes and even no need to remember any access codes.

This configuration allows to perform all functions as described in the manual. The X10 protocol is built-in the system as well as one thermostat for a complete HVAC control (1 zone). Also included are the telephone interface and digitized voice. Not included are the power transformer and the battery nor the X10 TW523 module and RJ45 telephone jack, security detectors and lighting control modules. Cardio is compatible with ordinary security components (contacts, motion and smoke detectors, etc.)

There is no optional features coming with a Cardio system. However, it is possible to add one extra touch panel and more key readers and digital keys for a grand total of 10 and 16 respectively. For zoning, Cardio is compatible with two types of thermostat (not manufactured by Secant) to control up to 5 zones or 5 different systems (central, heat pump, baseboard heaters, etc.).
